I had the whole day booked for it, so I’d like to find something automotive to do in its place. What do y’all recommend, Oppo?

If you don’t have a nice scenic backroad for some passionate curvy roading, I suggest driving to your nearest karting track and blowing off a bit of steam there.

Massive thunderstorms expected tomorrow, possibly flooding at the venue too.

The car does need a wash & wax; maybe I’ll be able to wash and then  get it into the garage before the storms start.

Come by my house, drop the gas tank of my Camaro and clean up all of the rust and filth. It should be mid-30s so not terribly cold but insulated coveralls are recommended. If you’re feeling brave you can also replace the front springs.

I’m driving to SLO in the morning. In the VW though. And it will be raining. So the fun route is out of the question. I don’t really have a plan, I just need to get out of LA and clear my head a bit. Road trips help me with that.

If I set out for VT immediately, I’ll be about 24 hours late if I’m only stopping for gas, and my tires will be 3,000 miles closer to their 10,000 mile average treadwear...

They emailed earlier this week saying “We run rain or shine” and then today said “The storm is gonna be worse than expected so we gotta cancel.”

I was stoked for more accessible handling limits but I guess flooding risk precludes that...

If I set out immediately and only stop for gas, I’ll be there just in time for the afternoon session...

If I have more lead time in a future week, I’ll make a weekend trip of it! SoCal to San Antonio isn’t too long of a drive, relatively speaking.
